Current Journal Issues Rearranged for Easier Access
Posted May 23rd, 2007 by psulibtechIn response to Portland State Library users' suggestions, the Millar Library's current journal issues are being rearranged to make them easier to find. Reshelving is taking place in the following phases:
Phase I: The current journal issues have been moved from the Current Periodicals Area and have been inter-shelved with their older bound volumes in call number order.
Phase II: Beginning Spring quarter, the Sorting Area will move from the fifth floor to the former location of the Current Periodicals Area on the third floor. This will move a somewhat noisy sorting operation from a quiet floor down to one of the floors not designated as quiet and make it more accessible from Circulation and Reference.
Phase III: On April 6, the Newspaper shelving will be relocated from the Current Periodicals Area on the third floor to the northwest corner of the second floor, bringing it closer to the Reference Desk.
We appreciate Library users letting us know how we can improve services and are pleased to be able to make finding journal issues easier for everyone. We are listening and responding to your needs and appreciate your help so we can serve you better.

Interlibrary Loan Courtesy Notices
Posted May 23rd, 2007 by psulibtechBeginning in February 2007, the Library's Interlibrary Loan (ILL) unit will issue courtesy notices to you via e-mail. A courtesy notice is a friendly reminder that an item will be due soon and should be renewed or returned to the Library. If you've borrowed an item through ILL, you will receive a courtesy notice seven days before it is due. To renew, please check the book band for a "no renewal" restriction and if none is found, log into ILLiad, the Library's ILL system, view your checked-out items and select renew. Thank you for helping us to maintain strong reciprocal relationships with lending libraries. Here is a link to your ILLiad account: https://ill.lib.pdx.edu/.
